The Pros and Cons of Joining a Guild in Guild Wars

Here’s a look at the highs and lows of guild life in classic Guild Wars.

Why Your Heroes Deserve the Best
Why Your Heroes Deserve the Best: The Power of Top-Tier Runes, Insignia, and Weapons
Every player knows the thrill of unlocking a new hero, leveling up, and taking on the toughest challenges your favorite game has to offer. But here’s a truth that separates casual players from real contenders: your hero is only as strong as the gear you put on them.
It’s easy to underestimate just how much of a difference top-quality runes, insignia, and weapons can make. Many players get by with whatever drops into their inventory, but if you want to dominate—PvE or PvP—it’s time to get strategic. Here’s why.
Why You Should Unlock All Secondary Professions
🎯 Why You Should Unlock All Secondary Professions in Guild Wars 1 (Hint: It’s All About Heroes)
So you’ve hit Ascension in Guild Wars 1. Congrats — that’s a major milestone. You’ve picked your secondary profession and are probably knee-deep in builds, missions, and maybe even Hard Mode. But here’s the question that trips up a lot of players:
Why bother unlocking all the other secondary professions after Ascension? Continue reading “Why You Should Unlock All Secondary Professions”
Finally Maxed Cartography
Title: Finally Maxed Cartography—After 18 Years of Wall-Hugging
It’s done. After 18 years of exploring every corner, edge, and cliff face Tyria has to offer, I finally finished the Cartography title. All campaigns. 100%. It still doesn’t feel real.
Honestly, the first 99.7% came together surprisingly well over the years. Sure, there was plenty of trial and error, and I spent a lot of time strafing along zone edges like I was looking for a lost sock in a fog bank. But progress was steady.
Then came the final 0.3%—and that’s where things ground to a halt. That last fraction took the better part of a decade.

Spring Has Sprung – Time to Get to Work!
Ah, spring. The birds are singing, the grass is growing, and everything smells like fresh mud and pollen. It’s that magical time of year when the sun sticks around a little longer and everything on the homestead seems to shout, “Fix me!”
Around here, that means a to-do list longer than a feed invoice in January. The barn roof needs replacing (because of course it does), the chicken coop could really use a fresh coat of paint before it peels itself into the woodpile, and don’t even get me started on the fence line.
Then there’s the colony of bees that need tending—because they’re just as busy as I am—and the block of chickens that have somehow figured out how to rearrange their own nesting boxes (again).
So while the weather’s nice and the days are full, I’ll be outside more and online a bit less. Just wanted to give a heads-up that I won’t be logging in as much for the next little while.
If you’ve got something to say or want to leave a comment, just click the title above. I still check in now and then and I’d love to hear from you—after I scrape the paint off my elbows and coax the bees back into the hive (again).
Here’s to productive days, good weather, and enough coffee to keep up with it all.

Why Max Armor Won’t Save
Why Max Armor Won’t Save You in Guild Wars (And What Will)
One of the most common questions new Guild Wars players ask is:
“How do I get max armor?”
It’s a fair question. After all, in most RPGs, better armor usually equals more power, more survivability, and a straight path to success.
But here’s the hard truth:
Max armor in Guild Wars is the bare minimum — not the secret to victory.
One Main To Rule Them All.
Why I Focus on One Main Character in Guild Wars (in an Account-Linked World)
Guild Wars might feel like three separate games—Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall—but it’s really one epic journey told in chapters. While I enjoy the flexibility of creating multiple characters, I’ve found that focusing on one main hero is the most rewarding and efficient way to experience everything the game has to offer.
